Jonathan “Phatchopz” Cardenas is an American stand-up comedian, writer and actor who has reinvigorated the art of storytelling. Often described as both stunningly handsome and shockingly misshapen, this one-man reality show captivates audiences as Chopz shares his inanely funny stories about struggles with obesity, sobriety, employment and his paralyzing inability to acclimate to society.
This former street thug and gang member, turned chef and father of two, will keep you laughing as he reveals some of the more darker and personal tragedies he has experienced on his way to becoming a professional funny man with a hardened, but warm heart. Phatchopz is considered a vicious roaster and has successfully headlined some of the most high profile roasts in South Florida.
In five short years, just long enough to go from his bald head to luscious dreadlocks, Chopz has proven himself worthy of repeat work at the most prestigious local comedy clubs, recovery centers and gas stations. Winner of several comedy contests, including Sexiest Comic Over 400 Pounds, and a repeat semi-finalist in the Florida’s Funniest Comedian competition, Chopz has shared the stage with Carlos Mencia, Steve Trevino, Alonzo Bodden, and Jim Florentine.
